Colin Wilson-Brown

Colin began his marketing career with Unilever in the UK before tucking an MBA from Cranfield under his belt and making the move to Australia. He has spent the last 25 years managing some of the country's leading advertising agencies including ten years as MD of the respected Sydney agency, Magnus Nankervis & Curl - leading it to Australian Agency of the Year in 1988 and NSW runner-up in 1996. It was then sold to Foote Cone & Belding and Colin spent a further six years as Managing Director of FCB's Sydney office and, subsequently, CEO Australia.

As past National Chairman of the Advertising Federation of Australia (AFA), he has been at the very heart of the industry, and has helped to negotiate the minefield of deregulation, promote equal opportunities for women, and co-author the industry's pioneering Code of Ethics.

He also launched the highly successful AFA Advertising Effectiveness Awards, one of the most coveted accolades in marketing, which is now part of the worldwide Effie Awards, of which Colin is Chairman of Judging. He is a frequent conference speaker and author on issues related to advertising effectiveness and accountability.

In March 2002 he combined his client and agency experience with his passion for effective advertising to launch The Clinic.

"McCann have been outstanding. They captured the essence of what we want to achieve (which I thought would be impossible). All in all we have felt like the most important client in the world and they have been so professional. Again, a huge thank you, Colin, because you made all this possible."
